Hodsock Priory 80/6 Vase
Galanthus Bill Bishop is a snowdrop variety with especially large flowers, almost disproportionate to the rest of the plant. It is part of the ‘Mighty Atom’ clan characterized by its long outer segments and a bold inverted v-shaped mark on the inner. Swathes of Bill Bishop reside at Hodsock Priory in Nottinghamshire. Surrounding the house itself are five acres of formal gardens, landscaped in the 1820s. Those who visit in the spring will experience a stunning carpet of snowdrop blooms, followed by a vivid display of colour from equally impressive bluebells. On a Moorcroft shape which mirrors the teardrop blossom of Bill Bishop, Nicola brings us a midwinter scene. Her lively cluster of snowdrops sway and swing amidst tiny delicate snowflakes upon an inky midnight sky. The floor is laden with a blanket of pure white snow. Sales of Hodsock Priory will help support the restoration of Blyth Church where most of Hodsock Priory’s ancestors have been baptised, married and buried for the past 400 years.
