Millefleurs M1/3 Vase

Vase

Between 1912-1914, Arts and Crafts designer John Henry Dearle created Millefleurs which was made at the Merton Abbey Works from Jacquard woven wool. Millefleurs is a pattern of flowers and leaves used in tapestry, porcelain or in other decorative items and so it is a most apt name for Emma’s trio of small fine art pottery vases. Each vase depicts a bouquet of tiny flowers in one of the primary colours, blue, red and yellow, each set against a jet-black background to create a sense of drama.
