Colorado 32/8 Vase
A collection of vibrant flowers encircle this Moorcroft vase, rather like the flowers that surround the summer peaks of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, brought to life by Moorcroft designer, Emma Bossons FRSA. The Lark Ascending, an apricot-coloured rose, has been chosen because it reflects the great diversity now found in English roses, already found in wild flowers. The Nymphaea Colorado flower, with its striking, salmon-pink blooms all cleverly woven into this Moorcroft design, reflects the colours of a beautiful Aspen summer. After the snows have melted, and the skiing elite complete with rows of Hollywood agents and businessmen dutifully checking their mobile phones have checked out, a slightly different Aspen emerges - a new, fresh world of beauty and colour. Like the One Man’s Treasure hosta depicted by Emma with drop-pools of lilac petals and striking, elongated burgundy stems, the Roaring Fork river cascades through the terrain under the imposing reddish mountain of the Maroon Bells, surrounded by a carpet of wildflowers.
This piece was tubed and painted by renowned Moorcroft decorators Marie Penketheman and Hayley Moore respectively. It is marked Trial and dated 1.5.13
