Goldfinches and Spear Thistle 83/8 Vase

Adult Goldfinches have a distinctive red face with a black cap and black around the eyes. Whilst their beaks are short and powerful, they are also very fine, making the bird highly efficient at feeding from the somewhat prickly spear thistles which Kerry displays in this action-packed design.

One bird sits neatly with his buffed, light brown-grey breast protruding proudly as the other displays how it can balance peacefully on this seemingly hostile plant. So that these little characters can be admired in all their splendour, the Moorcroft designer also showcases a swooping Goldfinch with wings outstretched to display their chevron-lined plumage, which moves in waves from jet-black to mustard-yellow before diving into grey at the tips.
