With rosehips ripening late summer to autumn, and hedges gleaming with black jasper jewels, bilberries and blackberries, the idea of a boutique wine for Moorcroft began to enter Vicky’s mind. Fresh elderflowers are gathered for elderflower wine in the peak of summer when the pollen is most aromatic. The Winemakers is an Indian Summer in a design; a rich colour palette for the flowery nose. Yet there is an added twist from the summer solstice; a time where everything is lush and green, the air is perfumed with the scent of summer flowers, and there a sprinkle of the autumn hues to come within sweet honeysuckle blossoms.

The Winemakers holds cadmium, burnt orange and pink honeysuckle blossom to salute the colours of autumn as they infuse up the elongated neck of this limited edition with elderflower florets, their unmistakeable aroma within their clusters of small, cream-coloured flowers. Soon the winemaker will pick the succulent berries that cheer the hedgerows but for now we can all enjoy memories of lazy picnics in the warm rays of late summer and the sound of popping corks. A vintage year for Moorcroft has arrived.
