Hollyhock Haven 42/12 Vase
In Jane Austen’s England cottage gardens came in many sizes and styles. They ranged from the small labourer’s cottage garden, where usefulness was the prime concern and beauty the secondary, to ornamental cottage gardens created purely for pleasure. In small cottage gardens the growing of vegetables and fruit to feed a hungry family took precedence.
However, in small spaces plants such as hollyhocks and herbs vied for position and brought beauty to this industrious small plot of land - creating a haven for both pollinators and people alike. Emma’s design features a trio of different coloured hollyhocks ranging from a warm pink, to a deep rich burgundy and a vibrant blue – each bringing a flash of colour to bring cheer to all.
