Pale Primrose JU7 Jug

April is a month for Primroses, and Moorcroft designer, Nicola Slaney has created a design to bring us all a new twist on our Primrose designs, which date back to those of William Moorcroft over a century ago. The deep blue flowers of traditional Grape Hyacinths are also a familiar sight in Spring, and the Moorcroft designer has created a rich tapestry of beautiful blooms in a trio of cool, pastel shades of lilac, pink and blue to violet. Skilfully, she selected the most balanced blend, a combination of three of the best grape hyacinths which coordinate wonderfully, draping themselves into a full, elaborate bouquet of colour to the rim of the vase as the palest of primroses cluster below. Pale Primrose has a colour dating back to 1934 and describes the colour of a Surrey primrose flower. A popular colour for fabric and fashion in the Elizabethan Era, and a popular colour for British car companies in the mid-20th century. Happily, this soft, light and buttery yellow hue now has a place in Moorcroft Primrose design.
