Brazilian Moonflower - Master 35/7 Vase
In 2021, a rare Amazonian cactus planted at Cambridge University Botanic Garden, attracted interest from around the world as it started to bloom. The team believed their moonflower Selenicereus wittii was the first to flower in the UK. Intrigued by the story, Vicky decided to investigate the flower further. In her design, the Moonflower sits in its native Brazilian flooded rainforest accompanied by a hawk moth, Cluentius Sphinx, one of only two species of moth that pollinate the flowers in their natural habitat. The flower clings to Igapó trees, which cleverly border Vicky’s three-panel design which features night, dusk and day.
